The climb to Mt. Pulag

This is not the first time that I am going to a mountain hike and camp and my expectation of the place is that the trail would be rugged and will be tiring as well. Our trip started from our bus ride from Cubao to Baguio scheduled at 11:00 p.m. Saturday March 15. From there we took a jeepney ride to Mt. Pulag at around 5:00 a.m. in the morning. The class felt very sleepy and tired from the bus trip but the idea of hiking mount Pulag made us feel excited. Before going to the jump off point, the class visited the DENR ranger station first for our Log in and short briefing.

Right before the hike I felt like the hike could be easy and it was. If compared to other hikes Pulag was moderately ok. My last hike was at Makiling and it was relatively easy as well. The difference that Pulag has compared to other mountains that I have hiked is that the scenery and the overwhelming cold. The scene at Pulag made me contemplate on a lot of things. I find myself staring at the scene a lot and imagine different things.
I was enjoying myself the whole trip. It gave me time to see the views and the experience of a lifetime to hike the 2nd highest mountain in the Philippines. The view of the sunrise gave me chills. It was so majestic. It is something to come back to.

Overall, the trip was worth it. It enabled me to see where my limits are and the strengths and weaknesses that I have. It enabled me to think not only of my self but also my classmates and my environment. It made me realize that if you come prepared and with a companion you wont die in the cold. It made me realize a lot of things and examine myself physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
